Biodata
of Shri Shyam Bihari Mishra - National President, B.U.V.M. |
 |
Shri Shyam Bihari Mishra was born on 8 May,
1938 in Vill. Pipra, District Kanpur to Late Pt. Baijnath Mishra and
Smt. Jayanti Mishra. After graduation, he joined the family
trading business of grains but the born leader in him was waiting to
be unleashed. He successfully raised the voice of the traders
community at various forums - demanding honour, fair treatment
and just policies for the trading community from the government.
It was no wonder then that he was elevated to the post of Secretary
General of the Kanpur Galla Aartiya Sangh - the post which he
held during the period 1975-92. In 1992, he became the
President of this traders' association.
Pt. Mishra's forceful personality and never-ending zeal to fight for
the cause of his fellow brotheren kindled hope in the hearts of
business community to such an extent that he was given more and more
responsibilities not only by various trade organisations but also by
the Government when he got elected to the highest forum of the
nation - the Parliament on three consecutive occasions.

|
Pt. Mishra has charismatic leadership
qualities and this fact has been exhibited on several occasions.
A great patriot, he did not confine himself to the cause of
business community only. On the very contrary, he became
the most authentic voice of his parliamentary constituency and was
elected as member of the Parliament in 1991, 1996 and again in 1998.
He never believed that businessmen should have only
expectations from the government and that they don't have any
duties. Under his dynamic leadership, various trade
organisations always remained at the forefront in the face of
national crisis and natural calamities and extended all possible
help to the government.
Pt. Mishra has always been a fighter for
the cause of the people who reposed unwavering faith in him time and
again. It is very difficult to count the number of trade
organisations which have been working under his dynamic leadership. Bhartiya Udyog Vyapar Mandal - the apex body of the
trade and small industries in the country is one such organisation.
